Mr. Burns serves as the Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer for ComplyCode, a health care compliance and education firm based in Binghamton, New York. He brings over twenty years of clinical health care experience to ComplyCode, most of which is based in the acute and critical care settings. He has worked in both a trauma/neurological Intensive Care Unit, as well as with emergency departments who specialized in trauma and cardiac emergencies.

Currently, he is employed as a firefighter/paramedic with the City of Binghamton Fire Department. He is also currently employed by the Emergency Department at Binghamton General Hospital, where he works as a staff RN treating acute emergencies with a focus on substance abuse and psychological emergencies.

Mr. Burns graduated from Broome Community College with an Associate's Degree in Nursing. He has served on numerous health care related committees over the past twenty years, including the board of directors for Union Ambulance, the QA/QI committee for the Emergency and Trauma Services program at United Health Services, and the QA/QI committee for the City of Binghamton Fire Department. He is a member of the International Association of Firefighters and the Emergency Nurses Association.
